When diving the shrimp boats you never know what species of sharks you are going to see. Species you may potentially see on any given trip are; tiger, scalloped hammerhead, silkies, makos, and dusky sharks. More commonly seen species, are blacktip, Atlantic sharp nose, lemon, bull, and spinner sharks. When dealing with the open ocean and wild sharks, you just never know what's under the boat.
Reality check;
Top water shark diving is not for everyone. These encounters are strictly snorkel trips. NO SCUBA diving is offered. The trips are for photographers, videographers, and shark enthusiasts that are seeking unique and up close shark interaction. The sharks that feed under shrimp boats are often aggressive and the encounters can be in your face interactions. But if you are ready for this style of shark diving...give us a call. On the rare days that no sharks are found under the boats, we will spend the day drift chumming for sharks. Species commonly seen are blacktips, and mako sharks.
