We spent the day drift chumming this location seeking out blacktip sharks. We chummed up a mako shark instead. The shark stayed with us for over an hour before it finally took off. We were able to film and photograph the shark for our upcoming TV series 'Chasing Sharks'. Images were shot with a Canon Digital Rebel, in an Aquatica Housing. The video footage was captured on a Sony HDV FX-1, in an Equinox Housing. This was a 'First Desent' for our film crew at a new dive spot in the Gulf of Mexico. We will continue to chum this location throughout the year to see if we consistently find more sharks here. If we do we will officially name the location...hey! that is the whole point to doing 'First Descents.' You find it, you get to give it a cheesy name. We will keep you posted...
